BellamyBellamy Young, born Amy Maria Young on February 19 1970, ([1]) was an American actor, director, and singer who is best famous for her performance as Melody "Mellie", Grant the character in ABC's drama Scandal (2012)-2018. Her performance was so successful that she got the Critics' choice Television Award for Outstanding Supporting actress in the Drama Series in 2014. In addition, she starred on the Fox series Prodigal Son (2019-2021). Young started her career as an actress in the theatre. In 1997 she made her Broadway debut as Mary in the first production of The Life. As well as her Broadway debut, she's played Mary off Broadway in Stephen Sondheim's musical You Roll Along (1994) or Randy Newman's Faust (95-1996). 3][10] In 1995 she made her TV debut as a regular in The NBC daytime soap drama Another World as Dr. Courtney Evans. The actress was featured in two episodes on Law & Order, 1997 and 1998. The film's debut came in 1999 , when she appeared as an important role in the the crime thriller Black and White. In the following years, she starred in other independent films. Then, in the beginning of 2000, she was invited to guest-star parts on various TV comedies and dramas, which included The Drew Carey Show, The X Files, ER, Frasier, The West Wing, NCIS, Medium, Grey's Anatomy, Private Practice, Two and a Half Men, Supernatural, Drop Dead Diva, and Castle. Young featured on over 30 TV shows from the years 2000 to 2011.
